Almost anyone can play disc golf. From kids to seniors, athletes to couch-lovers, the sport allows players to move at their own pace, and most courses easily accommodate a range of skill and experience levels.
All that’s truly required to play is one disc (though most players opt to carry several best suited for different distances). They’re inexpensive new, or can even be found for just a few dollars secondhand.
It’s no wonder participation has grown 86% since 2020, with more than 21 million rounds played last year. There are even more disc golf courses in the United States than Dunkin’ Donuts locations!
Amazingly, 7 of the top 100 courses in the country are in North Carolina, including the course ranked #15 in the world right in Cary.
- #6 in the US, #15 in the world: THE Diavolo DGC @ New Hope Park in Cary
- #23 in the US, #38 in the world: Neatman Creek in Germanton (2 hours from Raleigh)
- #33 in the US, #51 in the world: The Regulator at Rock Creek in Burlington (about 1 hour from Raleigh)
