Pack Hillsborough Street this Saturday, August 24, to show your Wolfpack pride and celebrate the start of another school year. The Packapalooza block party runs from 2-10 p.m. and includes music, food, activities, and lots of school spirit!
Join 85,000 NC State students, faculty, alumni, and other community members at the free family-friendly celebration that caps off Wolfpack Welcome Week.
Several fun zones will offer an array of activities. The Play Zone gives you a chance to shoot a hockey puck with the Carolina Hurricanes, ride a mechanical bull, or kick a field goal. The Kids Zone will feature interactivities for young Pack fans, plus a chalk artist. The Arts Zone will have performances from dancers, musicians, and other creatives, plus information on all the arts-related opportunities around campus.
Visit the International Zone to learn about the diverse cultures represented in NC State students and staff. The Green Zone connects community members who care about sustainability, and the Pack Pride Warrior Zone gives you a chance to meet area first responders and servicemembers.
Learn about athletics at NC State – and pick up some new red attire – at the Wolfpack Zone. And find out how to get involved in the community in the Service Zone.
New York-based performance group Improv Everywhere will be on hand with The MP3 Experiment, an audio experience that will “allow participants to become undercover performers and bring laughs and smiles to the crowd simply by downloading an app and listening to instructions through headphones.” Visit the NCSU website for info on how to participate in the unique flash-mob-meets-improv experience.
