The third annual Gettin’ Piggy With It will bring award-winning chefs and pitmasters from across the country to downtown Raleigh on May 18 to raise money for the Frankie Lemmon School.
Beyond barbecue and other delicious bites, the family-friendly event will feature local beer and spirits, games, live music and much more. It will be held from noon to 5 p.m. May 18 at Maywood Hall and Gardens (622 Maywood Ave. Raleigh, 27603) and is co-hosted by Lawrence Barbecue and Trophy Brewing.
VIP tickets cost $200 per adult and allow guests to enter at noon instead of 1 p.m. General admission tickets cost $150 per adult. Children ages 11 and under can attend for free. Tickets can be purchased at https://frankielemmonfoundation.org/gettinpiggywithit/tickets/.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Raleigh’s Frankie Lemmon School and Developmental Center, which provides accessible education and therapies to children with and without disabilities. The services are provided at little to no cost to the families.
“Gettin’ Piggy With It is a shining example of what we can do when we come together,” said Marsha Hargette, executive director for Frankie Lemmon School and Foundation. “We have the amazing folks at Lawrence BBQ and Trophy Brewing championing this event. They are true community leaders who bring people together and do the hard work, and it’s Frankie Lemmon’s students and their families who are the winners.”
Andia’s Ice Cream has developed a rosemary and olive oil focaccia flavor specifically for the fest.
