Kentucky Derby–Inspired Brunch

Break out your fanciest hat and join local nonprofit Violet Love for its 10th annual derby-inspired brunch. Proceeds will directly benefit scholarships and educational support for women in North Carolina, Ghana, and Sierra Leone, with a focus on expanding access to higher education, vocational institutions, and critical resources that help women succeed. Individual tickets $125. Premium table option for 7 guests available.

Mother’s Day Market

May 3, 3-6 p.m.
The Mayton, Cary

Shop 20 curated vendors to find the perfect gift. Listen to the jazz stylings of electric piano in the Park Room and The Lounge Doctors on the Terrace, and pick up a specialty cocktail from the bar at Peck & Plume. Be sure to stop by the selfie wall and flower giveaway. Free to attend.

Videri Mother’s Day Market

May 9, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Videri Chocolate Factory, Raleigh

A monthly market with a Mother’s Day twist! Pick up flowers from Bottom of the Fox Flower Farm, jewelry from Hygge and Heartbreakers, a unique creation from Morso Leatherworks or Spearmaker Ceramics, candles from The Wanderlight Co., and more gifts she’s sure to adore.

Ma & Pa Festival 

May 9, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Fayetteville Street, Downtown Raleigh

Make it a family affair! This event honors mothers and fathers. Shop more than 140 vendors with a variety of goods, plus food trucks, lawn games, a DJ and live music, indoor cigar lounge, and DIY lipstick and body butter. Beer, wine, and bubbly will be available with a portion of proceeds supporting Raleigh City Farm.

Wye Hill Brunch

May 10, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing, Raleigh

Talk about a spread! Wye Hill is pulling out all the stops with a smoked salmon carving station, build-your-own mac and cheese and salad bars, savory frittatas, crispy waffles with maple syrup and spicy honey, herb-roasted chicken, fresh fruit and a full dessert display with bread pudding, scones, mousse cups, cookies, and pastries. Drinks include classic and build-your-own mimosas, spicy Bloody Marys, and spring cocktails. $55 for adults, $20 for children ages 4–12, free for toddlers 3 and under.
