Search your favorite area bookstore, library, coffee shop, restaurant, hotel or day spa beginning Feb. 11, and you’ll spot our spring 2008 issue, which is packed with information on living healthier lifestyles. The issue’s special section, Healthy Living, covers articles on integrated medicine, from chiropractic and massage to acupuncture, as well as the link between our diets and cancer.
Our popular Around Town section features articles on Midtown and Uptown Raleigh, which are taking the city to new heights; youth sports leagues, including the Carolina Copperheads and Capital Area Soccer League; and Raleigh’s historic trolley tours. Mike Sundheim, director of media relations for the Carolina Hurricanes, highlights a particularly special day for a 7-year-old fan in his Hurricane Tracker column.
This issue’s Hometown Stories section focuses on Josh Hamilton, a major-league baseball player who was given another chance. This Apex resident, who was traded in the offseason from the Cincinnati Reds to the Texas Rangers, was one of the breakout players of 2007.
Other stories covered in the spring issue include “From Farm to Table,” a story on area chefs who are working with local farmers to offer the freshest – and often organic – ingredients; “What’s Old is New Again,” an article on making the most of the interiors you already have; and “Going Green,” a feature on steps you can take to have an environmentally friendly landscape.
This summer, we will launch a new section on environmentalism and sustainability. Watch for it in the next issue - and in the meantime, drop us a note and let us know what you think of the spring 2008 edition.
